I don’t know if I’m a fruit guy or a fruit lady, but I’m always on the lookout for a new fruit-inspired snack to try.
And now, thanks to my new friend, cartoon fruit snacks.
If you’ve never heard of cartoon fruit chips, they’re just a little box of crunchy, crunchy snack pieces.
They’re also a great way to make sure your kids are ready for the world to see them.
If your kids haven’t eaten fruit snacks before, here are the basic steps to making a snack box.
The box needs to be made of a thick, crunchier, crunch-y snack material like paper, plastic, and a mix of ingredients that don’t have a lot of ingredients in common.
First, you’ll need to get the fruit into a large, sturdy bowl, which can be made out of a large plastic container, or a plastic container made of wax or plastic.
Make sure you don’t put your kids’ food in the bowl or on top of it.
Next, place the box into the freezer until it’s frozen solid, about 2 hours.
(You can use a non-frozen box if you prefer.)
After the fruit is frozen, you can use your fingers to pick the pieces up.
Once you’ve picked them up, place them in a bowl or container.
If there are any fruit bits or seeds stuck in the plastic, you may need to scrub them off.
The next step is to cut out the cartoon fruit.
In a blender or food processor, add the water, corn syrup, and salt, then process until smooth.
(If the process isn’t too smooth, it will still work.)
This step may seem intimidating, but don’t be intimidated.
I promise it’s worth it.
Now, you want to mix up a little juice to make up the filling.
Mix the ingredients together with your hands.
Add the filling to the bowl and use a fork or spoon to break up the pieces.
I like to do this with the filling in the center, so that it is a bit thicker than the fruit pieces.
Then I put the filling back in the freezer for about an hour, to let it set up and harden.
(That’s how you know it’s ready.)
Once the filling is hard, you’re ready to snack on it.
The last step is putting the fruit in the paper box.
You can put it in the fridge, and when you’re done with it, you should be able to get out your food.
Here’s how to make cartoon fruit packets: The cartoon fruit can be purchased at most grocery stores and the farmers market.
Make a snack container and put it into the fridge.
Put the fruit on a paper plate.
Add a little of the juice to the fruit, then put the fruit box back in its container.
Put some more juice on the plate, and add more fruit pieces and nuts.
(I usually put 1 to 2 pieces of fruit on the bottom of the fruit container.)
Enjoy your fresh fruit, and feel free to use the cartoon fruits as a snack.
If I’ve made a few cartoon fruit boxes for the kids, they’ve been delicious!
