2 dead, 4 injured in crash on Yuki Fruit basket ride in Texas

A passenger in a fruit basket riding in a Texas city was killed and four others were injured when a tractor-trailer crashed into a home, authorities said Wednesday.

The tractor-tractor’s driver, identified by local media as 36-year-old Michael H. Haney of Yuki, Texas, died at the scene.

Police said he was driving with the passenger in the basket.

Hanes funeral is scheduled for Thursday at a church in Yuki.

The other two passengers were treated at the hospital and released, police said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said Haney was driving a 2013 Ford Focus with a Texas tag that said “Yuki Fruit.”

The driver was identified by the Texas Department for Public Safety as 36 years old Michael Haney.

The state trooper who was driving the tractor-lift truck is not injured, the agency said.

Police say the driver’s vehicle was “skewed” and had a faulty brake system, and that the tractor was driven “unintentionally” into the home.

The trailer had its bumper removed and a piece of the tractor fell on the living room floor, police added.

No injuries were reported in the crash.
